An Official Plan is a policy document that establishes a vision and goals for the Town- ship's future to the year 2031. The Official Plan will guide how lands in the Township may be used and how each community envisions their future growth. It establishes what important natural, cultural, agricultural, and recreational features and resources should be protected and enhanced, and how community services will be planned for the future, such as roads, infrastructure, housing, and parks. In November 2017, the Township held a series of five Visioning workshops and an online Visioning survey, through which residents shared their ideas to help establish a vision. Based on the community input received, preliminary Vision Statements were developed and presented for review and feedback at a Public Open House on December 7, 2017. Discussion Papers and questions for community input on various land use planning and policy topics pertinent to the Township's Official Plan review were presented at a Public Open House on January 17, 2018. The Township invites all interested persons to attend a Public Open House where the following will be presented: • Results of the Growth Management and Vacant Lands Analysis for the Township's settlement areas and rural area; and • Recommendations for changes to and the development of new Official Plan policies, based on background information and community input received to date,as present- ed in a draft Directions and Recommendations Report.
