Minnesota Corn Growers Association Cover Story: Life of an Ag Services Manager: Dennis Searle (plaid shirt arms folded) has been with The Amalgamated Sugar Company since 1973. Prior to his current position as manager, Searle was hired as a fieldman and then promoted to agronomist in 1989 and then in 2007 he took on the vast responsibilities as Ag Services Manager. Searle is also the editor-in-chief of the Amalgamated growers publication called The Sugarbeet where he collects articles and information for two issues per year. Searle tends to appear at all field demonstrations as well as helping his staff to promote new and improved methods of production. In the past several years strip-tillage has found its way out west, Searle says it is “a relative new practice that is still trying to find it’s place.” No doubt it is becoming more established with each year proving that this method shows excellent results.
