She is certified by the American College of Veterinary Chiropractic, and in veterinary acupuncture by the Chi Institute, as well as equine rehabilitation therapy. She showed horses in hunter shows growing up and began showing in dressage and combined training/eventing in college. After graduation, Dr. Robinett worked for the Houston SPCA and started a clinic in Pearland, Texas. After leaving that practice in 1997, she began a mobile veterinary chiropractic practice, and then opened VCRC in 2008 as the culmination of her long-time goals. Dr. Christine Hinze, DVM, CVA graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 with an emphasis on mixed animal practice. She is trained in acupuncture from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and is a Level II Reiki practitioner. The staff at VCRC has a mission that their clients enjoy coming to and being comfortable at VCRC, whatever treatment strategy that entails. Dr. Hinze has experience in wildlife rehabilitation and enjoys volunteering for organizations such as the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network, the Texas Seaport Museum, and the Turtle Island Restoration Network. Practice manager Jerri O'Donohoe-Robinett joined VCRC in 2009 after a career as a safety manager in the oil and gas industry. A lifelong lover of companion animals, she was a natural fit to join the office staff of veterinarians, technicians, and assistants that help to take care of all the animals at VCRC. VCRC has been a TEVA Platinum Practice since 2012. They can be reached at: Veterinary Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Clinic 4604 Fuqua St, Houston, TX 77048 713-991-9500 http://www.vetchiroandrehab.com/ To learn more about becoming a Platinum Practice, please contact Sara Green at 806-673-1987 or office.teva@gmail.com. Veterinary Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Clinic (VCRC) is located in Houston, Texas, south of NRG Stadium and the Medical Center. The clinic is a small and large animal practice, offering veterinary chiropractic, acupuncture, and rehabilitation services for dogs, cats, and horses. It is one of only a few clinics in the country to have underwater treadmills and provide rehabilitation services for both large and small animals. VCRC provides a variety of services including: veterinary chiropractic, traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (acupuncture and Chinese herbal supplements), nutritional counseling, cold LASER therapy, therapeutic exercise, underwater treadmill, neuromuscular stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, and Game Ready®Equine. One unique aspect of VCRC is its use of chiropractic and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM). Chiropractic therapy is a drug-free healing science that restores proper biomechanics and function to the spine and nervous system. It often works well with TCVM in addition to Western veterinary medicine as a holistic approach to preventative and maintenance health care for all animals. Veterinary Acupuncture and Chinese herbal supplements are two branches of TCVM used at Veterinary Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Center. They have been used in China on animals for over 3,000 years and are based on the belief that there is a vital force or energy, termed Qi, flowing through the body. Disease is a result of a disruption or blockage of this flow. Some treatments to rebalance the Qi include: traditional acupuncture, electroacupuncture, aquapuncture, and Chinese herbal supplements. In addition to these unique methods, VCRC boasts the Ferno Aquapaws and AquaPacer Underwater Treadmills at their facility to provide aquatic therapy for the rehabilitation and conditioning for dogs and horses. The underwater treadmills help to build up muscle and endurance faster than swimming since the animal is partially weight bearing. This allows for shortened rehabilitation times and quicker return to regular activities. The workouts can be tailored to the animal's needs through adjustments to water level, speed, and time. VCRC also uses the Game Ready®Equine system to deliver dry cold and active compression in providing injury prevention and speeding the recovery of equine athletes from chronic lameness, acute lameness, cellulitis, tendinitis, pre-and post-operative care, bowed tendons, and more.
