for children living with diabetes, asthma, or allergies, is
BlueLoop. It's a clever way of keeping children connected
to school nurses, parents, teachers and others that
want to help manage the health of a loved one.
BlueLoop is an easy-to-use Web and mobile-based
software program much like Facebook in the way it
functions. It works as a care coordination tool for someone
of school age living with Type 1 Diabetes. It's a great tool to
support the physical and emotional well-being of children
with diabetes and "those that care for them, by facilitating
communication among home, school and clinic," according
to Pam Henry the woman behind BlueLoop. The App
gives the child total independence and a feeling of being
normal without after-school interrogations by well-meaning parents. Wonderfully, BlueLoop
is 100 percent HIPAA compliant, and information access can be taken away at any time.
BlueLoop charges a nominal fee of $7.95 per month to access and use the site.
