The Westport Arts Council's (WAC) Some Kind of Choir will be per- forming April 14 and April 20 with concerts in Elgin and Westport. The choir's theme this year has been 'songs that inspire', a theme which has brought some familiar songs. "They are challenging which is what the choir wants but the same time for the audience they will know every piece of music," said WAC chair, Robin Jones. The choir, which has come together for a third year, is under the direction of Cordon Purcell. Mary Lou Carroll is the accom- panist. The April 14 concert, at Elgin United Church at 7 p.m., will also include Sean and Alex Price and the singing quartet, Soul Purpose. The April 20 concert in Westport at 7 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian will feature the Rideau District High School Jazz Band. Proceeds from both freewill concerts will go to the RDHS instrument repair fund.
