St. Patrick's Day is a day of feast com- memorating Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity to Ireland. Patrick was born in Roman Britain and kidnapped by Irish raiders to work as a slave in Ireland. He eventually made it back home and became a priest, and later returned to Ireland to convert the Pagan Irish to Christianity. He died on the 17th of March with many legends surrounding him and became Ireland's foremost saint.
