This year marks the seventh consecutive year the company has made the list. Clarivate analyzes companies' patents and intellectual property based on proprietary data to select candidates for its annual list. The firm's analysis focuses on four main crite- ria: patent volume, success, globalization, and influence. "Epson is honored to have been selected for inclusion in the Top 100 Global Innovators list for the seventh consecutive year," says Toshiya Takahata, execu- tive officer and general administrative manager of Epson's Intellectual Property Division. "Epson's business strategies and intellectual property strategies are closely linked under our Epson 25 Corporate Vision." With this year's list, the company joins a small group of only 37 organizations who hold the seventh consecutive year track record. Monarch Names Lawson Screen & Digital Prod- ucts as Distribution Partner CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Monarch Color Corporation adds Lawson Screen & Digital Products to its distributor network. The company says the partnership is an effort to sell its inks through knowledgeable distributors. "When you have an advanced ink, you need a busi- ness partner that is as equally advanced to communicate properly, to their market, what makes our plastisol ink so special," says Aaron Blank, vice president of sales and mar- keting for Monarch Color. Sportsman Cap & Bag Changes Distribution Model KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Sportsman Cap & Bag announces a change to its dis- tribution model. The company now fulfills orders solely through its 17 distribu- tor locations across North America rather than its corporate headquarters. "We have an impressive distributorship built on shared values and goals," says Dan Saferstein, president of Sports- man Cap & Bag. "We believe this is the best channel to continue providing a growing selection of caps and bags to our industry." The company's support network for distributors features personal educators who travel across the country to provide product information. BSN Sports Acquires Gulf Coast Athletic Supply DALLAS—BSN Sports announces the acqui- sition of Gulf Coast Athletic Supply (GCAS). GCAS distributes team apparel and equipment in the south coastal region of Texas, includ- ing the Greater Houston market. "GCAS will contribute a tal- ented group of team sports pro- fessionals to our growing organization and, just as importantly, their culture of stellar customer service and a 'customer first' commitment is a perfect fit with our approach to the team sports and community marketplaces," says Terry Ba- billa, president of BSN. "Joining forces with BSN SPORTS represents a rare opportunity to rapidly expand services and new product lines to our customer base of the past 27 years," adds Ron Blackard, president of GCAS. The move continues BSN's recent trend of ex- pansion nationwide. In 2017, the organization acquired companies based in Utah, Alabama, and Maryland.
