www.pdbmagazine.com Pontoon & Deck Boat April 2018 30 LilliPad Marine 800-279-3419 www.lillipadmarine.com Install While reading the detailed instructions and referencing the install videos on the LilliPad website, we had no issues mounting the diving board on the stern deck of a 2017 Avalon LSZ 2485 Quad Lounger. Like the countless people I've talked to, it really has improved the way we use our pontoon now. And like many others, my only regret is I didn't get one sooner. Following the install I've come to appreciate it even more. For a big guy like me who is roughly a biscuit over the board's recommended maximum weight of 250 pounds, the energy-canceling diving board means even I don't rock the boat when I take a plunge. The downward forces generated by a person jumping on the end of the board are "canceled" by equal and opposite forces within its framework. The result is a spring-action for the jumper and a gentle wave-action for those on the boat. I had Corey explain in more detail the engineering behind this once, but I never was great at math and was just glad there wasn't a test. All I can tell you is that I've tested this diving board myself and my ballerina-like form is jaw dropping – or at least that's what I've been told – yet there was minimal rocking for everyone else onboard. Until you try it out, you truly don't know what you're missing. Photos by Brady L. Kay
