MEN'S GOLF Michigan posted a 900 total to place ninth out of 13 teams at the Aggie Invitational April 7-8 in Bryan, Texas … Senior Kyle Mueller came in fifth place at the event with a 3-under-par 213, and was U-M's top individual finisher … Junior Nick Carlson did not participate due to a shoulder injury, marking the first event he'd missed in three seasons; he returned to the lineup April 14-15 in the regular-season finale at the Boilermaker Invitational, though, and posted two straight 76s — scores that were four strokes above par … Mueller recorded a 4-under 140 to- tal to tie for runner-up honors at the weather-shortened event, marking his sixth top-five finish of the season … He finished below par and among the top 12 in each of the first nine scoring events this season … U-M came in eighth place out of 17 teams at the affair, and will next partici- pate in the Big Ten Championships April 27-29 in Baltimore. WOMEN'S GOLF Michigan tied its best finish of the season at the Bryan National Colle- giate April 6-7 in Greensboro, N.C., by checking in eighth out of 16 teams … Freshman Ashley Kim tied for 12th at the event (a career-best) with a spring- low 224 total … It marked the third straight tournament she was U-M's top finisher … The showdown marked the conclusion of the regular season for the Wolverines, who will next com- pete in the Big Ten Championships April 20-22 in Maineville, Ohio. MEN'S GYMNASTICS 8-4 OVERALL, 2-2 BIG TEN Three different Wolverines — sophomore Mitchell Brown (14.30) plus freshmen Jacob Moore (14.65) and Nick Guy (14.40) — tallied career bests on the vault table in a 407.350- 407.050 setback to No. 8 Penn State at home March 24 … Freshman Cam- eron Bock, meanwhile, posted a ca- reer-high 14.55 on parallel bars, while sophomore Mack Lasker grabbed his first event title and set a new ca- reer high on pommel horse (14.45) … U-M swept all six events against No. 17 Illinois-Chicago March 31, tal- lying season highs on the pommel horse (67.900), parallel bars (69.150) and high bar (69.550) … Michigan was listed No. 5 in the April 2 edi- tion of the College Gymnastics As- sociation rankings … The Wolverines posted a score of 408.600 to finish second (behind Illinois) out of seven teams at the Big Ten Championships April 6 in Ann Arbor … Bock took fourth in the all-around (82.800) to earn All-Big Ten first-team recogni- tion … He became Michigan's first rookie to earn all-conference honors in the all-around since 2011 … U-M will compete at the NCAA Champi- onships April 20-21 in Chicago. MEN'S LACROSSE 7-5 OVERALL, 0-3 BIG TEN The Wolverines posted the pro- gram's first top-five win with a 13-12 upset at No. 4 Notre Dame March 21 … It was the first road win over a ranked foe and just the second over a ranked opponent … Junior mid- fielder Brent Noseworthy tallied five goals and an assist in the biggest win in program history … He was later named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and earned a spot on the USILA Team of the Week for the performance. WOMEN'S LACROSSE 5-10 OVERALL, 1-4 BIG TEN Fifth-year senior attacker Bianca Brueckner racked up a career-high six points in Michigan's 14-7 vic- tory over Detroit-Mercy March 25, while junior attacker Adriana Pen- dino matched a career high with five points … The Wolverines assisted on five of their 14 goals in the win over the Titans, marking a season high in assists … Junior goalie Mira Shane's 14 saves during a 16-9 loss to No. 2 Maryland March 31 were tied for the second most in a single game in pro- gram history. ROWING After a 3-0 start to the year, Michi- gan's first varsity eight boat picked up its first loss when it finished sec- ond to Princeton March 24 in Princ- eton, N.J. … U-M's first varsity four did post a win at Princeton … U-M won seven of the nine varsity races it participated in against Virginia and Clemson March 31 in Columbus, Ohio … On April 3, Michigan's first varsity eight boat earned Co-Big Ten Boat of the Week recognition after it won both of its 2,000-meter races against Clemson and Virginia … On April 1, the U-M Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS) an- nounced that senior coxswain Alexis Jones was one of four recipients for the 2018-19 Bonderman Fellowship, which offers four College of Litera- ture, Science and the Arts graduat- ing seniors $20,000 to explore the world over a span of eight months … Michigan was victorious in all seven of its morning session races against Indiana April 7 in Belleville, Mich., before claiming another six wins against Iowa in the afternoon edition … The CRCA/US Rowing Coaches poll placed the Maize and Blue at No. 10 in their April 11 rankings … U-M's second varsity eight boat came in second to No. 1 Washington on Lake Las Vegas April 14, but finished ahead of No. 3 Texas … The Big Ten Championships will be held May 13 in Indianapolis.
