Canson is a Swiss artist who first broke onto the scene as one half of the Anatol duo, but in more recent years has been a solo artist linked to labels like KATERMUKKE and his latest outing is on Sol Selectas. The two original tracks from Canson are both downtempo cuts of eloquent house music. Everything down to the design of the artwork has a delicate touch, and there is something very classy about the overall vibe. 'Humming Dunes' is quite distinct with bending samples and Arabic flutes that all blend into each other with a wash of delay and other effects. While 'Kolumbus' is quite hypnotic with a rapturously spellbinding atmosphere. Also on the release is a sole rework by Ninze who turns 'Kolumbus' into a magical journey of enlightenment with deeply sensual pads; and if we had to pick just one track from the release it would be a hard choice, but the Ninze remix is probably the one for us. NEW RELEASES Intec welcomes some fresh talent in the form of Brennen Grey, who prior to this release had been popular with Carl Cox following releases on Oscar Aguilera's HE- ART and Sian's Octopus Black label. The Blaze were the French winners of the European Border Breakers Awards in 2018 and now the duo is back with their latest track 'Heaven', one year after their sublime EP Territory. Carl Cox is known for someone who has a keen ear for talent and signing Brennen Grey to his label Intec shows Carl has spotted something special. Each of the three tracks from his latest release from Intec is slightly different, with 'Through The Lens' being deep and understated. Whilst 'Say Yes' has got a definite party vibe and 'Machine' is the hardest with an aggressive sound. The variety on this release shows that Brennen Grey has more than one string to his bow, and it will be exciting to see what the future has in store for him. As usual, the discreet cousins Guillaume and Jonathan Alric who are both film and sound directors have created a visual masterpiece for the music video for 'Heaven'. Speaking of their love for music last year they said: "Our love is being in the studio, making sound and thinking about clips. 'Heaven' is filmed in the sunny countryside where a couple is having a picnic with their baby and friends. The happiness of the scene is further reinforced by the melancholic house, sensitive soul and euphoric pop played throughout the track. The cinematic electro and the commanding male vocals also playing throughout, capture an idyllic scene that you could even describe as heavenly.
