GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: JOE FORD 44 ISSUE 108 / 2018 Metalheadz London is back for 2018 and looking big. Joe Ford drops his latest album Colours in Sound with the Shogun Audio label The album releases varies from hi-tech drum & bass tinged with rock, funk and everything in between. From the get go, Ford leaves us speechless in 'Tomb Raver' and 'Out of place', while tracks like 'Said' and 'Where Is The Sun' shows off Ford's rougher and darker sound. It's now obvious more than ever, d&b's rising star is already leaving his mark on the scene. The influential label hosts an absolutely mammoth session on 6th May at one of our favourite London venues, Egg London. Metalheadz have made sure this will be a celebration of all aspects of drum and bass with five unique spaces playing host to some of the biggest names in the genre. Catch Lenzman, Om Unit b2b Doc Scott live. The venue will also see DJ Storm on the decks for a set alongside DJ Flight, as well as Blocks & Escher, Artificial Intelligence, Visionobi and plenty more. ALBUM OF THE MONTH: MEFJUS The Austrian machine, Mefjus announces his second album Manifest! If you ain't heard of Mefjus then where have you been hiding! He's behind some of the maddest tracks that have been igniting floors and festival tents in recent years. His productions go from mild to wild in a matter of seconds and are widely celebrated across the board, made plain with his signings to imprints such as Critical, Ram & Virus. Manifest will be his second album following 2014's Emulation and his destructive mix for fabriclive95 last November. Mefjus's latest LP reflects on the broad nature of his sound and has brought forward 17 tracks that'll give each sub-genre a touch of Mefjus' magic. A labour of his love, the entire project has been written, produced and mastered by himself. It features no collaborations, only pure Mefjus fire in what he says marks the beginning of Mefjus 2.0.
