8 || P R I N T W E A R J U LY 2 0 1 8 Business Watch OrderMyGear Receives $35 Million from Equity Group for Expansion DALLAS—OrderMyGear receives a $35 million investment from Susque- hanna Growth Equity (SGE), an investment firm with offices in Pennsylva- nia and Israel. SGE notes that in 2017, the company topped roughly $200 million in commerce through more than 100,000 stores and 2,000 dealers, decorators, and athletic organizations. "Whether for sports teams, corporate products, or com- munity events, our solution makes it easier to set up and merchandise an online store, collect payment, and co- ordinate decoration and fulfillment," states Kent McK- eaigg, CEO of OrderMyGear. "We are thrilled to work with SGE to accelerate investment in our software, provide more valuable products and services to our clients, and surface important insights for our brand partners." McKeaigg originally built the company as a software platform for his father's team apparel business to collect orders for youth sports teams in Oklahoma. "OrderMyGear is the clear technology leader in the market for group apparel purchases," says Ben Weinberg, managing director at SGE. "The company's suite of tools is driving a (change) in efficiency and automation in the custom apparel industry, which has been slow to adopt technology historically. OrderMyGear is an ideal fit for us." With the investment, Weinberg and Aaron Flack, growth equity investor at SGE, join OrderMyGear's board of directors. S&S Activewear Opens Doors on Georgia Facility BOLINGBROOK, Ill.—S&S Activewear announces the opening of its newest warehouse in the greater Atlanta area. Based in McDonough, Geor- gia, the facility adds to the company's existing network of locations in Il- linois, Kansas, New Jersey, California, and Texas. "Having the new Atlanta distribution center in op- eration by 2018 was an ambitious goal, but our team delivered," states Frank Myers, chief operating officer at S&S Activewear. "The addition of our Georgia fa- cility marks our presence as a complete national wholesaler, and we've been racing to get there for our customers by opening two new facilities in under six months." The new location offers one-day delivery to Southeastern states including Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennes- see and boasts 505,000 square feet of space. Alongside shorter ship times, the company says it estimates it will be prepared to offer will call for local customers by the summer of 2018. Tubelite Adds New Jersey Facility APOPKA, Fla.—Industry supplier Tubelite announces the opening of a 10th location in Pennsauken, New Jersey. "(With) more than 85 years in the industry, Tubelite has developed and flourished into one of the largest distribution companies in our industries," states Tara Burgos, marketing administrator for Tubelite, adding that the company's workforce now sits at more than 150 employees. "The opening of this new facility allows Tubelite to serve an expanded area." The new 17,000-square-foot facility provides daily delivery service to the greater Philadelphia region and expands the company's reach to cus- tomers in the screen printing, sign, and digital industries. The facility offers local pickup and is located at 3900 River Road, Suite F, Door #1, Pennsauken, New Jersey 08110 Penn Emblem Earns Best Badge Award PHILADELPHIA—Penn Emblem earns the Best Badge/Emblem Design Innovation Award from the North-American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors (NAUMD) for its PennFlex Emblem. Innovation Awards score products in a variety of di- visions ranging from best fabrics, footwear, and garments. Each award submission was judged on three categories: technology, importance of the problem solved, and originality. During an awards dinner in March 2018, the winners of the association's Innovation Awards were announced. This was the first time the company has won an Innovation Award. Richard Hirsh, national account sales manager at Penn Emblem, accepted the award on behalf of the company. "Penn Emblem would like to thank NAUMD for recognizing our innovation," he adds.
