"I have a few surprises on the menu that I think guests will really enjoy." As for what types of produce he hopes will be available on the day of his Whim Dinner, Husbands prefers a mystery. "One of the things I love most about this event is the element of surprise when it comes to what produce will be available from the farm; that's what really sparks our creativity. ere's nothing better than cooking with fresh, local ingredients, and I welcome the challenge of incorporating what's in season into my menu," he says. "[Husbands] is about the best chef in the country for bar- becue having won many awards and we are happy to have him returning," says Smolak, adding that Husbands is also "a huge advocate of giving back and has been on the forefront of help- ing those who are less fortunate." Husbands, whose Whim Dinner will be on July 18, has chosen Share Our Strength as his beneficiary.
