Patrick Hunt, Sales Account Manager, Progress Mfg. W hen I was in high school, my dad drove me around town to pick up job applications. I picked one up from Blaine Jensen RV, applied, and they hired me. I started there as a lot boy in 1996 making $4.85 an hour. I wanted to earn money to enjoy my teenage years. My first industry show was at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. I was there with Blaine Jensen and cleaned the RV units, ensuring the exterior looked new and shiny. I had a great experience there; I loved being at the show. I liked having a job where I was able to get out and do different tasks and errands. A turning point in my career came when I started to have the courage to ask for more responsi- bilities. While working at Blaine Jensen, the parts manager position became available. As the time I wasn't qualified for the job, but I applied. I didn't get the job that time around, but my employer saw my efforts in wanting to work my way up and learn new skills. The company worked me up to different positions, which has led me to other opportunities. I am proud of my work in opening the Camping World in Colorado Springs in 2007. I saw every part of it from the ground up. I hired all the employees from scratch, trained the employees, organized the store, and cut the ribbon on opening day. It's fun to go back now and visit, four of the employees I hired are still there working.
