Chad Briggs, Purchasing Manager, Dutchmen RV I got my start as a purchasing agent at Midway Specialty Vehicles in Elkhart, Ind., buying parts to make State Farm disaster relief mobile offices. We also converted Sprinter chassis vans into refrigerated units. In 1999, a friend of mine mentioned that he had a job in sales at Key- stone and that it was a good place to work, so I decided to try and get in while they were new. After a few interviews in sales with no success, I decided to try for an opening in the purchasing department, which I had current experience in. When I first started, my primary concern was to learn the product and processes thoroughly and never allow that assembly line to stop moving. As I learned the job, I began to get more detailed in product development, negotiations and an overall perspective of how a company is run. The turning point in my career was after year 10 when the opportunity arose to manage multiple plants at Dutchmen. I eagerly accepted and have been doing that since the fall of 2015. I always say, "You are only as good as your people" and ours are exceptional, so making sure that all eight plants run efficiently always is Priority 1. I am most proud of the fact that I have made it to this level of manage- ment where I can help make decisions to further the success of our company's future. I love working at Dutchmen because we have an experienced, creative management team that hates to lose, so I come to work every day knowing that success is the only option in our minds. Our culture is summed up in that one statement: Success is our only option, and the whole Dutchmen company from top to bottom is driven toward being the best.
