The Celestion Axi2050 is a high power AxiPeriodic compression driver with a neodymium magnet, a titanium diaphragm, and a large integrated surround for minimum distortion (see Photo 1). Its features include: • Wide bandwidth midrange/high-frequency driver • No midrange crossover required, leading to improved performance across the crucial vocal audio band for superb intelligibility • Mechanical vibration modes fully decoupled from acoustic modes, removing unwanted resonance peaks • Large surround area extends low-frequency performance, while minimizing distortion Industry News & Developments Figure 1: Celestion has released and patented a new very wide bandwidth compression driver utilizing what they are calling "AxiPeriodic" technology.
