His play at NC State proved he should have been. Tocho, who started at least three games in all four seasons and the majority of the contests in three years, led NC State in passes broken up in 2014 and 2016, and his career total of 26 is good for 11th place all time in school history. 4. Jerod Fernandez, Linebacker Fernandez would start more games (43) at NC State than any other player in the 2013 class. As a redshirt freshman, he was second on the team with 78 tackles. Like Jones, he rebounded from an uneven soph- omore campaign to finish second on the squad again with 88 hits. This past fall, Fernandez led the way for the Wolfpack with 98 tackles. If he had played his sophomore season, when he had just 47 tackles, to the average he did his other three years, He could have broken the top 10 list at NC State for career tackles. 5. Dravious Wright, Safety/Nickel In the 2015 season opener against Troy, Wright came free on a blitz and unloaded on quarterback Brandon Silvers in a hit so jarring that it knocked both the helmet off Silvers' head and the football out of his hand. Making the play even more impres- sive was Wright recovered the fumble. That was the ultimate highlight of what Wright brought to the field: ferocious phys- icality. In 2016, Wright's blow to Clemson running back Wayne Gallman knocked him out of the game with a concussion and also forced a fumble. Wright forced seven fumbles in his ca- reer at NC State. After Joshua Jones led NC State with 109 tackles and three interceptions in 2016, he left early for the NFL and was drafted in the second round by the Green Bay Packers. PHOTO BY KEN MARTIN
