Clutch play down stretch delivers upset of Illini
There was a Chris Kramer sighting at the game as the former
Boilermaker was interviewed by
Purdue Radio Network color analyst
Ralph Taylor. Kramer is back in the
States after playing basketball in
Germany.
With the game in hand, Terone Johnson, D.J. Byrd and Lawson
celebrate the Boilermakers fourth conference-opening victory
in the last five years. Johnsons 25-point, nine-rebound performance was a career-best in scoring and one short of his best
effort on the boards.

Jacob Lawson not only looked
at ease during this picture, but
played that way as well with his
10-point, seven-rebound effort
against the Illini. He has worked
his way into the starting lineup of
late, answering the call in eight of
the last nine games.
Yes, the Boilermakers hit six three-pointers in the game, but
it was their ability to drive the lane that made much of the
difference in the contest. Johnson scored many of his nine
baskets in the paint.
