Premium Economy amenities include wider seats with more legroom, adjustable head and foot rests and extra recline, plus "elevated" meals with complimentary beer, wine and spirits, as well as exclusive amenity kits. On long-haul international and transcontinental First or Business class and Premium Economy, guests can enjoy a suite of advanced sleep offerings designed by sleep guru Casper. Casper studied the travel environment for months to better understand the challenges of in-fl ight sleep. Casper's sleep engineers then applied their expertise in sleep research and sleep science to design products specifi cally for air travel and made exclusively for American Airlines. American put these designs to the test with customers on some of its longest fl ights, including Los Angeles to Auckland, New Zealand. For Premium Economy passengers, the cabin enhancements include a wider leather seat with 96 centimetres (38 inches) of pitch and additional recline with extendable foot, leg and head rests. Customers who purchase a Premium Economy ticket also receive priority privileges, including checked luggage, security and boarding. Senior vice president, global sales and distribution Alison Taylor said, "Premium Economy demonstrates our commitment to create a world-class experience and gives our customers more options when fl ying with us." American Airlines recently expanded its partnership with China Southern Airlines to build an extensive network in China. More than 240 destinations in North America and 100 destinations in China are connected based on the joint codeshare partnership.
