MAHB launches the Sama-Sama brand SEPANG – Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) has launched the Sama-Sama brand of hotels, in a move to mark its entry into the airport hotel sector, positioning it as the region’s first dedicated operator of airside and landside airport hotels. The launch was held at the Gateway Ballroom of the Sama- Sama KL International Airport Hotel which was formerly the Pan Pacific KLIA. Boasting an enhanced five-star experience with newly refurbished rooms, the rebranded hotel is ready to welcome its guests through the offering of specialised and unique product and services catered to the varying demands from travellers in transit. Delivering his speech through the Minister of Tourism, Dato’ Sri Ng Yen Yen, Prime Minister of Malaysia YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak said, “It is heartening to note that Malaysia Airports is expanding on its repertoire of airport services to include hospitality with its Sama-Sama brand. It is always a proud moment to see a Malaysian brand grow from strength to strength and achieve success on the world stage.” Under its five-year business direction, ‘Runway to Success’ that spans from the year 2010 to 2014, Malaysia Airports’ creation of the Sama-Sama brand name also involves the identity for two other hotels; the KLIA Air side Transit Hotel (ATH) and klia2 ATH, which will be ready in May 2013, the same time as the klia2 Terminal. The brand new Sama-Sama identity, which means “togetherness” or “you’re welcome” in Malay, aims to offer an environment in which differences reside together – be they cultural, ethnic or lingual, similar to that in Malaysia. MAHB Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah, said; “Not content with just providing world-class, awardwinning airport services, Malaysia Airports had the vision to offer every passenger who lands at KLIA a seamless travel experience – from the aircraft to the airport and to the hotel room. We will provide the connectivity, the convenience, the facilities and our unique Malaysian hospitality to welcome them. And so, the Sama-Sama brand is born.” Malaysia Airports further added that this new direction that the company is taking also means new opportunities and possibilities of career growth for the hotel associates in the future, as it expands its business beyond Malaysia in the overseas ventures and offerings. The internal announcement to the staff was well received as Malaysia Airports shared its plan for the airport hotels, and seek continuous commitment from its staff in embarking on this exciting journey of creating a niche and specialisation for its airport hotel business.
