NOVEMBER 2018 ■ 119 ■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING NC State was Kaba's first offer, and he camped at the school in June and returned in July for the Alpha Wolf Showcase. He also made the trip for Wolfpack games against James Madison and Virginia. Kaba had 48 tackles, 17 stops for loss and 10 sacks in 13 games during his sopho- more season at Scotland, while helping the school reach the 4-A state title game. OFFENSIVE TACKLE MITCHELL MAYES Raleigh Sanderson High NC State has done an excellent job in recent years keeping the top talent in the Triangle at home, including landing a pair of prospects from Sanderson High in the 2018 class in four-star defensive tackle Alim McNeill and three-star running back Trent Pennix. The 6-5, 295-pounds Mayes is the next big thing to emerge from Sanderson and is the top prospect in the Triangle in the 2020 class. Rivals.com rates him as a four-star player, the No. 9 recruit in the state, and the No. 20 offensive tackle and No. 188 overall prospect nationally. Mayes has made multiple visits to NC State and has admitted to growing up a Wolfpack fan. Clemson, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are some of other teams in the mix. WIDE RECEIVER MUHSIN MUHAMMAD III Charlotte Myers Park High Muhammad is the son of the former Carolina Panthers receiver by the same name, and his father's alma mater Michi- gan State will likely be a strong contender for the 6-0, 170-pounder. That said, Central Florida, NC State, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are among the schools trying to persuade him elsewhere. Muhammad played at Providence Day before transferring to Myers Park for his junior year. DEFENSIVE END MYLES MURPHY High Point (N.C.) Southwest Guilford High Murphy, one of the fast risers this fall in the 2020 class, has been offered by Florida, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech since Septem- ber.
