Last year, women's hockey tied for first in the ECAC, and they're just going to keep improving. "Last year was our best year ever," Painter says. "Four years ago, we won seven games." Painter credits that victory partly to good coaching from head coach Greg Fargo. He took time to get a foundation with the players and cycle through graduating classes and new senior players. "And our coaches know, 'Hey, we still got work to do to get to where they are, but we have come a long way.' And frankly, the building's been a part of that," Painter adds. "The athletes that are coming here know there's a commitment to hockey and a great place to get a great education. You know, look what you're going to be playing in every day.
