Colorado Springs native
Owen Clark and his
older brother Graham are
enrolled in a Learn-to-Play program at the Ice
Ranch in the Denver suburb of Littleton.
The program teaches young players the basic
fundamentals of the game and doesn't allow
goalies, but Owen still loves to don the pads
during the boys' spirited basement hockey games,
and he dreams about the day he can step on the
ice and stand between the pipes.

GETS DOWN TO THE
NITTY GRITTY
k
While the NHL season is just a few months in, it's safe to say that the title
of mascot of the year is destined for the grips of Gritty.
Since his introduction, most fans can't get enough of the Flyers'
rambunctious mascot.
South Philadelphia born and raised, the orange fluffy mascot is one of the
early storylines of the 2018-19 season, between his rabid following on social
media and his antics of wreaking havoc at the Wells Fargo Center.
So why only settle for mascot title of the year? Gritty geared up to put
his menacing mug on the cover of TIME Magazine, writing himself in to be
nominated for the publication's Person of the Year.
Gritty was even interviewed by the publication, dishing out great insight on
his personality, his friendship with Flyers center Claude Giroux and snow, or as
he likes to call it, Zamboni dust.
As he said in the interview, "You want to get Gritty, you gonna get Gritty."
