Its expert team provides annual inspections, repairs, and maintenance to make sure re extinguishers and other life-saving tools remain up to code and will function proper- ly if needed. The organization ran its accounting on a legacy DOS-based system for decades before deciding to make the switch to a more scalable solution that could support its nancial manage- ment needs over the long term. Jerey Wallace, the company's director of business operations, shared some background on their previous challenges. "Our old accounting soware was unstable, dicult to use, and so antiquated that it was hard to even see where our numbers were at or produce the reports our board of direc- tors and owners needed to make business decisions. This denitely hindered our growth and made it hard to delegate nance tasks or hire top talent." Aer adopting the cloud-based ServiceTrade application for its technicians, United Fire went in search of a modern nancial platform that could integrate with Service Trade to eliminate duplicate data entry. The team connected with Sage Intacct consulting partner, Leap the Pond, who helped them evaluate their options. "We looked into both QuickBooks and Cougar Mountain's Denali so- ware, but quickly determined that Sage Intacct was the best nancial solution in the industry. Its robustness – as well as its ability to connect with other business soware and scale with potential business expansion – were just what we needed," said Wallace. Solutions Automating Manual Processes through Best-in-Class Integrations With excellent support from Leap the Pond, United Fire successfully migrated to Sage Intacct and streamlined several of its error-prone nancial processes. For example, the new system fully automated tedious monthly closes that used to take weeks on end, and customer invoices that oen required 15 manual steps. Because ServiceTrade and Sage Intacct work seamlessly together, the company's technicians now simply document their job information in ServiceTrade, and it is then pushed straight into Sage Intacct as a sale order. United Fire also added 2C Processor from the Sage Intacct Marketplace for credit card processing and storefront transactions, which all sync with Sage Intacct to improve billing accuracy.
