They slashed their financial close in half and now deliver more timely, accurate information to MADD's Finance Commi ee. What's more, the team no longer requires an entire position dedi- cated to manually reconciling data between siloed human resources, e-commerce, accounting, and other tools. "Ge ing all of our systems to speak a common language has revolutionized MADD's financial processes. By uncovering efficiencies and leveraging so ware automation, we've reduced finance headcount by two or three FTEs while taking on new responsibilities like payroll," commented Hightower. "Now, instead of spending days in Excel massaging, verifying, and o en correcting data, we're able to produce the reports we need in minutes with Sage Intacct and work with one set of trusted numbers." Results Gaining New Insight and Credibility with 360-Degree Reporting With Sage Intacct, MADD enjoys full visibility into its financial health. The system supports everything from complicated financial reporting and deep operational insight to detailed grant reporting and comprehensive cost accounting for individual projects. Hightower said, "One of the best things about Sage Intacct is its dimensions capability to a ach business context to transactions. We can slice and dice our financials by location, project, project type, class, pur- pose, employee, grant, sub-grant – you name it – to easily analyze the cost of specific programs. This means that we no longer have to make decisions based on gut feel, since people have all the information they need to understand things like whether one of our fundraising events made money, or whether an office is struggling and needs assistance." In addition, Sage Intacct delivers much improved transparency and granularity for grant report- ing and frequent state audits. According to Hightower, a er each of MADD's audits this year, the grantor agencies proactively followed up with her to share how complete the reports were. This, of course, helps increase their likelihood of renewing or growing those grants. When it comes to MADD's operations, Hightower also appreciates having access to financial insight that empowers her to play a more strategic, forward-looking role in the organization. She o en uses Sage Intacct to pivot and view information from a different perspective, and then share her recommendations with clear supporting data about the effect each change would have on financials. Sage Intacct helps us be be er stewards of donor dollars, since the less time and money we spend on compli- ance and administra- tive work, the more we can spend on MADD's mission. In addition, it gives us the transpar- ency to see how suc- cessful each location is, and make sure we're pu ing our resources where they're most needed. Lista Hightower, CFO, MADD
