This Week In Purdue History
Feb. 12, 2002 Joe Tillers sixth recruiting class gathers further discussion by recruiting experts as Tom Lemming (Prep Football Report), Allen Wallace (SuperPrep) and Jeremy Crabtree (Rivals.
com) weigh in on the recruiting haul. They agree that receiver Ray
Williams, defensive end Anthony Spencer and quarterback Brandon Kirsch are the gems of the class.
Feb, 9, 2005 Recruiting coordinator and linebackers coach
Mark Hagen is named by Rivals.com as one of the top 25 recruiters
in the nation mostly on the strength of snagging nine players from
the state of Indiana in the class that was announced a few days
earlier. He was especially praised for in-state four-star prospects
J.B. Paxson and Selwyn Lymon. Paxson never made it to Purdue
and Lymons Boilermaker career was short-lived due to troubles
off the field.
Feb. 13, 2009 Defensive back Torri Williams is
granted a sixth year of eligibility for the Boilermakers
after suffering multiple knee injuries earlier in his career. It starts a string of sixth-year players for Purdue
in football, including linebacker Jason Werner and
quarterback Robert Marve.
