HOUSE / TECHNO 26 www.guestlist.net ARTIST OF THE MONTH: SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO Issue 48/ 2013 EVENT REVIEW: TROUPE @ SIDINGS WAREHOUSE London's electronic music duo Simian Mobile disco are standing strong this 2013 with lots of new projects and huge things to come. Producers/remixers James Ford and Jas Shaw, better known as SMD, formed the duo in 2005, and since then have conquered each and every dance floor that they grace with their sets. Now they are about to release Live, the first in-concert recording made last year in Philadelphia in a single take during the tour for their last album Unpatterns. The compilation includes both SMD classics, such as "Hustler" and "It's The Beat" as well as tracks from their latest album. All this material was performed in Philly last December and promises no post-production. The release will drop on their own Delicacies label on April 15th. Simian Mobile Disco have been invited to perform in the most important music festivals around Europe this year including Coachella, Hideout Festival and Primavera Sound 2013. They are also playing in an unknown location in London on the 22nd February so watch this space! The Sidings Warehouse on Southwark Street is a wicked venue and on the 8th of March is hosting one of the fastest growing house nights in the country. Troupe is making a name for itself as being one of the musts on the house scene tearing up anything and everything it touches. Playing at some well known venues around the country paired with some of the biggest names in house is the basis of what they are all about. March brings Cyril Hahn who will be making an appearance as part of his European tour and what a privilege that is going to be. If you're already doing something then free up that space because this is one night that you're going to hear about. With support from the likes of Waze and Odyessy, Sam Russo and Gavin Herilhy getting oh so loose its no doubt that troupe is yet again going to smash it.
