10 GUESTLIST www.guestlist.net 5 REASONS TO WORK HARD Issue 48 / 2013 FOUR YEARS OLD! Come an d celebrate with us a t JAMAIS Your parents have been telling you it since you could walk and talk; to work hard. But now I'm here to give you the real reasons why it's important to always work your hardest. 1. MONEY So here at Guestlist we are celebrating four years in the game, and what an eventful four years it has been for us. We have travelled the world from Miami to Ibiza, to Barcelona and Italy covering the very best festivals, gigs and music. We have danced our feet off, had more hangovers than one could cope with, interviewed some of the biggest artists in music, went to some of the craziest parties, met some of the craziest people and had a lot of fun along the way! We would like to thank everybody who has helped us get to where we are today, it's taken a lot of hard work but has been worth it every step of the way. That goes to everyone from our team here, to you guys on the streets who read our paper every month, to those who view our content and subscribe online. None of it would have been possible without you guys so a massive thank you to VU every sun day nigh t at the Hors e & Groo m, Shoredit ch! you all for everything. Not ones to rest on our laurels though, we promise to keep bringing you the latest and greatest news in music, film, technology and travel, to the highest quality possible. Obvious, obvious, obvious. Work hard and the chances are you're going to succeed in something and hopefully earn a bit of cash for it. Money makes the world go round and so it sure comes in useful to have a bit kicking about. Think you're gonna make money without some hard work? 2. FREEDOM This leads directly on from number one doesn't it? With your hard earned cash you are now in a position to break free from the strangling grip of your parents and forge your path in life. Never can they hold you back again or influence you because they still hold the keys to the castle. 3. WOMEN (Now obviously this is coming from a man's perspective but you can happily swap the sex...)Do you really think any respectable, potential lady friend is going to give you the time of day if you are a 30 year old weed smoking, trackie wearing, sofa hugging nobody? Exactly. 4. POSSESSIONS I know, it sounds superficial. But how many things are there that you see and wish you could buy? How many times have you said 'I wish I was rich?' Well here's a thought, work hard and you could be! Work hard, earn some money and that iPad, or that 60" TV, or whatever it might be can actually become yours. What a simple thought. 5. IT'S ACTUALLY BLOODY SATISFYING As much as I've loved my formative years of doing, well not very much. At the end of the day, and youngsters you'll learn this one day too, nothing beats really getting your head down and accomplishing something with your life. It's cheesy yes and I've even tried to deny it myself. But you know what, now I just can't. RAVING BABIES!! We knew the Welsh are pretty crazy but what we've now heard it all. Sarah-Jane Hulme, 41, has been accused of taking her four month old son Django...to a rave. You heard right, a rave. She was seen dancing next to fellow ravers at an "ear-splitting drum and bass" event. There has been a severe response to this event as Siobhan Freegard, of Netmums said "anyone taking a baby to a rave is raving mad." Naturally one would be inclined to agree with this but the mother in the firing line has denied any wrongdoing and actually has said it's the third gig she's taken her son to. Her reasons for taking her young son to the event are because she claims that due to his breast feeding he needs to be with her and "in France or Spain, parents are encouraged to take their kids to music festivals. My daughter Kerry was performing with her band in her home town for the first time and I wanted to be there. What's wrong with that?" Well despite being so adamant, I'm pretty sure there's still a lot wrong with it. Loud music, surrounded by people, drink and drugs is hardly the best environment for a tiny baby to be in and her claims that he slept through the whole event are slightly hard to believe. As news spread of the baby in the crowd police stopped the music at 12:30am to ask the mother to come forward, but she left without answering any questions. I mean, why would she? In her eyes, "I don't think I've been irresponsible at all."
