In our small group, I'm the only accountant, so "separation of duties"
is difficult to say the least. But we are able to use electronic approvals
and signatures, and the Purchasing menu, so that non-accounting
staff can help us stay in compliance. Sage Intacct allows us to make
adjustments and reclass transactions easier while still maintaining
an appropriate audit trail. Managers and decision makers now have
a much higher visibility in real time of how their programs are doing
financially. We used to have to export data to Excel, fill out template
reports, to print and give managers on paper.
