C O N S T E L L A T I O N 00 WinStarFarm.com "We have three colts on the farm that we are very excited about. We purchased two of them, and one is a homebred. The homebred is out of Weekend Whim, making him a half to Grade 1 winner and Breeders' Cup champion New Money Honey. All three are doing extremely well. I think Carpe Diem will make plenty of noise with his 2-year-olds." The Carpe Diems that were on offer at the first major juvenile sales of the year did catch the eye of plenty of buyers, both domestically and internationally. At the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream sale, Katsumi Yoshida of Northern Farm in Japan went to $650,000 to secure a colt out of the Smart Strike mare Brampton from the female family of Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner Accelerate. Bred by Foxpointe Thoroughbreds, the colt was consigned by Cary Frommer. The Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s March 2-year-olds in training sale featured four colts and f illies that brought six-f igures. Leading the way at OBS March was a filly out of Cabaret Starlet. Consigned by Tom McCrocklin, agent, she sold to Yoshida for $250,000. The leading Carpe Diem colt hammered down for $245,000. Consigned by Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables, agent, the son of Just Waiting went to Louie Roussel III. "The more we do with the Carpe Diems, the more we like them," said Dunne. "They are horses who like to train. They move even better at speed than when walking, and they get better as they go along. Overall, I think more will go to the races than go to the 2-year- old sales, and I think that might be a good thing." $650,000 colt bought by Katsumi Yoshida at F-T Gulfstream
