50 / MAY.JUNE.2019 USICERINKS.COM u.s. ice rink NEWS Updates from the U.S. Ice Rink Association Board of directors elections coming in June The United States Ice Rink Association will be conducting its annual board of directors elections during the month of June. The following elected membership representative positions will be open: (2) Facility and (1) At-Large. Members elected to the U.S. Ice Rinks board of directors serve three-year terms, starting in July. Nomination forms will be sent by email to all members on May 28 and nomina- tions will be accepted through June 10. Ballots will be distributed to all members June 11 and will be accepted through June 24. Candidate bios will be available online at usicerinks.com/ resources/member-only-resources. Winners will be an- nounced in the "Network" member e-newsletter on June 25. CIT Class of 2014: It's time to recertify! Individuals who have been awarded the Certified Ice Technician (CIT) professional designation by the United States Ice Rink Associa- tion are required to recertify every five years from the year they originally achieved the CIT. In addition, CIT's must also renew their membership each year with the United States Ice Rink Association to maintain their CIT designation. Currently, there are be two ways for individuals to recertify their CIT designation in 2019: 1. Successfully complete the written CIT recertification exam at the North American Rink Conference and Expo (NARCE), May 21-24 in Buffalo, N.Y. 2. Successfully complete the written CIT Recertification Exam, offered at any U.S. Ice Rink Association Regional Training Program location. Additional locations are also available.
