This was my 16th year participating in the event, and 10th as a U.S. Ice Rink Association staff member and I just can't believe how much it has grown and truly become the premier event for the ice rink industry since the inaugural event in May 2003 in Rosemont, Illinois. This year in Buffalo, New York, there were over 675 individuals from the ice rink and ice sport industries in attendance from 44 states, 6 Canadian provinces, Belgium, China and Japan. NARCE is now the only time during the year where ice rink professionals from around the country, representatives from prominent regional rink managers associations (MIAMA, NEISMA, RMRA, WIAMA), representatives from every ice sport national governing body (U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, USA Curling, US Speedskating) and representatives from the National Hockey League all get together to network, learn and share ideas with each other. I believe that NARCE is a very important vehicle for driving our industry, and the individuals that make it their profession, toward current and future success. As you can imagine, there is a lot of work that goes into a national conference and trade show, and the work to put forth a successful event cannot be done by our staff alone. I would like to recognize and thank our Board of Directors, events committee, volunteers, instructors, exhibitors, sponsors and all of our members for their support and efforts in making the 17th Annual NARCE event the biggest ever! We won't be resting on our laurels, however; we are looking forward to taking the feedback we received from attendees and exhibitors this year to make NARCE 2020 even better. I hope you take the opportunity to join us in May at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Buffalo. I hope you have a great summer, — Jeff Theiler, Chief Operating Officer, United States Ice Rink Association This year in Buffalo, New York, there were over 675 individuals from the ice rink and ice sport industries in attendance from 44 states, 6 Canadian provinces, Belgium, China and Japan. Taking NARCE to the Next Level
