Kyle Charters: "Few would have predicted the Boilermakers would win a Big Ten Tournament title this season, particularly after they limped into the postseason. Even less would have guessed Purdue would be dominant, blasting through their semifinal and finals opponents on their way to the crown. But maybe we should be smarter. The Boilermakers have owned the event over the years, so why should this season be any different?" Stacy Clardie: "All of Purdue's Big Three have momentum this week. The basketball teams are playing their best ball of the year at the right time with the men finally realizing what kind of character it takes to win and the women finally realizing how to score against a zone. The football team just wrapped its workouts and gets a break before spring ball starts next week. It's about as positive as it can get for Boiler athletics at this point." Alan Karpick: "In the last eight days the light bulb has come on for both the men's and women's teams. The women committed to learning how to take care of the ball again and rediscovered the confidence of a veteran team. The men, quite simply, just showed folks around the league that they too know how to play." Brian Neubert: "Better late than never for Purdue, which has made next season look much brighter with its improvement here in the final few games. D.J. Byrd will be missed, but every other major contributor from this season is slated to return. The future is very bright, and the fact that Purdue is finally at least approaching its potential bears that out. It's just too bad it didn't happen two months ago." the NCAA, was on the sidelines for Purdue's victory last March in Indianapolis.
