Founded in 1974 and headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, ResCare is a one- of-a-kind human services company created to help people from every walk of life reach their highest level of independence. For ResCare's HR team, hiring, training and managing more than 52,000 employees was incredibly difficult due to the use of multiple talent management systems. According to Tom Heetderks, vice president of human resources at ResCare, "We had separate systems for recruiting, learning and performance. We were also swimming in paper and inefficiencies." Recruiting was particularly problematic, as ResCare hires thousands of employees each year to keep up with the increasing demand for direct care. "We're in a high-volume recruiting setting and must respond quickly to a job seeker's expression of interest," said Heetderks. "And we wanted to ensure that we had winning new-hire onboarding solution. Unfortunately, our new employees faced the confusion of having to learn several HR systems."
