36 IDAHO FALLS MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER2019 and delivers cupcakes in Idaho Falls. Annually, Jackson visits Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City to present his generous donation in support of all children who can't leave the hospital, run outside and play like he can. Jackson was born completely blind in his left eye. Doctors diagnosed him with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (OHN). He had surgery at Primary Children's Hospital when he was just 4 years old to tighten his optical nerve and to improve his vision. During his recov- ery, he met other kids at the hospital and he felt inspired to give back… for them. When asked by his doctor how he felt about not being able to see out of both eyes like his friends, he respond- ed, "It's OK, I have a super eye. So, it is totally fine." This is fitting because his mother, Robyn, thinks he's an all-around super kid. "We have always said that Jackson is one of a kind," she said. "He'll always defend or help anyone in need. He is empathetic and always hopes for the best in people." Today, Jackson is 10 years old and has already achieved his dream of becoming a donor — he gives back every chance he gets. He's also well on his way to fulfilling his dream to be a professional football player. Last year, his football team won the Upper Valley Grid Kid Championship! Robyn credits the caregivers at Primary Children's Hospital for giving her son the care and treatment he needed to be the healthy, happy and active child he is today. Follow Jackson's lead and donate today to make a difference at prima- rychildrens.org/Idaho-radiothon. Submitted by Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital. Primary Children's patient gives back with Idaho Falls cupcake service As early as three years old, Jackson knew he wanted to play professional football one day. Not for the reasons you would think. It's not for the love of the game, or for the fans or fame. Jackson wanted the fortune… so he could donate it to Primary Children's Hospital when he grows up. He saw an NFL player on TV donate to another children's hospital and Jackson knew that was the role for him. Then Jackson learned, you don't have to be an NFL player to donate to Primary Children's Hospital. Anyone can donate. This is what inspired Jackson to start Cupcakes for Kids.
