"The thought is, well, if I join this, I get a discount and while my kid is on the ice I can go to a class or workout. Our membership has a free child watch for kids up to (age) 12, so a parent can check them in for 90 minutes and go do their thing. "Kids are on the ice so frequently, like most hockey families 5-6 days a week, it's a tremendous opportunity." Lybarger said the expansion from just hockey to multipurpose has also brought in additional hockey families. Member families are able to add on ice skating for $25 per month. Right now Lybarger said they are averaging 25-30 participants between the ages of 3-6. "In two years, we have graduated 15 kids, boys and girls, into hockey pro- grams," he said. "We have a handful of kids on the skating track and they want to continue recreationally. "Each year that goes by, we are finding out we can do more and more for our community, and that's exciting." J "IT HAS HAD SUCH A MEANINGFUL IMPACT ON CROSS-TRAINING FOR THOSE HOCKEY TEAMS. NOW THEY NOT ONLY HAVE THE ON-ICE ACTIVITIES, BUT THERE ARE SEVERAL OFF-ICE OPTIONS AND A VARIETY OF THINGS AVAILABLE TO THEM."
