A new space has opened next to the Minnesota Wild's practice facility to help underserved
kids gain greater access to ice sports. St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter officially opened Securian
Financial Equity on Ice Education Center in August.
Four local non-profit organizations—Brownbody, DinoMights, Friends of St. Paul Hockey
and the Saint Paul Police Activities League—will now be able to grow their programs with dedi-
cated office space, storage, a large multi-purpose room and easy access to the TRIA Rink.
The Securian Financial Foundation and Capital City Properties, the nonprofit arm of the St. Paul
Port Authority, teamed up to create this rent-free space housed within Treasure Island Center.
