For more details along with interactive maps, visit www.downtownidahofalls.com Our downtown is the economic center for the region Generating more payroll dollars per cen- sus tract than almost anywhere else in the region, downtown Idaho Falls is the economic center of the area. Many areas peak well over $3 million in annual pay- roll, amounting to over $3 billion for the downtown district. With some of the most productive land in the region, downtown business organizations in Idaho Falls have continued to create momentum for com- merce, leisure, and recreation for all. A Downtown for the Ages As the younger generations continue to mature, Millennials and young professionals have gravitated towards experiential living in the downtown Idaho Falls area. The chart below shows that over 30% of the population living downtown is Millennial, but that Gen Z and Boomers continue to choose to live downtown as well. 1,147 total live downtown. What do households look like downtown? Downtown Idaho Falls has an interesting household compo- sition for an area dominated by Millennials, with an aver- age household size of 2.15 individuals. In addition, the marital status of downtown residents is distributed, with a fourth of individuals never been married, over half cur- rently married, and about a fourth widowed or divorced.
