So far, the staff has exceeded expectations. "The fact we've been able to pull off having incredible ice makes me very, very happy," Quinn said. "We spent a lot of money on dehumidification and refrigera- tion. It's cool when NHL veterans come up to you and tell you it's the best ice they've skated on in 10 years." Keeping the Excitement Since its opening, Centene has been filled with skaters ready to hit the ice and learn the game. "It's so awesome to see how many more kids are now able to access the game and in a place where they can gather in a central point," Quinn said. For years now, the demand of hockey has grown in St. Louis. That growth got an extra bump from the Blues' run to the Stanley Cup Final. With all of this in mind, Centene appears to be coming on the scene at the right moment. "After winning the Cup, the demand is up," Rosenberg said. "The numbers are evident from learn to play, all the way up to the adult side of things. Coming off this Cup run, it's the per- fect time for this new facility."
