NORTHSHOREMAG.COM 6 MARCH 2020 PHOTOGRAPHS, TOP TO BOTTOM BY JARED CHARNEY, BY ELISE SINAGRA, BY NIR LANDAU, AND BY HARMON WESTON is March's health and wellness issue, perhaps above all others, makes me realize that we are truly blessed to live in an area where there are so many organizations—and people—caring, supporting, and championing those in need, whether it's through a program such as Our Neighbors' Table, which works to fight food insecurity on the North Shore; Self Esteem Boston, which gives women tools to help build their self-worth; the Ruderman Family Foundation, which fights for the rights of those with disabilities; Wellspring House's MediClerk, which provides educational services and job training for the medical administrative field; or Sailing Heals, which gives cancer patients a chance to forget about their illness for an afternoon while on Marblehead Harbor. Along with all of these stellar organizations, we also feature Castle Connolly's Top Doctors list for Essex County and our surrounding towns. I'm also thrilled to welcome Northshore magazine's new publisher, Chris McIntosh! A native of Peabody, Chris comes from an exceptional publishing background. He was the president and publisher at the Boston Business Journal as well as an associate publisher at Robb Report. Most recently, he was the chief marketing officer of Baystate Financial and the executive director of the Baystate Charitable Foundation, where he was integral in raising funds and awareness in order to make a positive impact on the day-to-day lives of children in need. Well entrenched in the North Shore and Boston communities, he has served on several boards including the Boch Center, Boston Police Athletic League, Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement, and AccesSportAmerica. We couldn't have asked for a more talented and hands-on publisher, whose creativity and forward-thinking attitude promise to take the magazine and our events to new heights!
