It was an odd sight for
a spring game, seeing
Purdue's quarterbacks live
and able to be tackled. Rob
Henry even felt the brunt
of it, as he's wrapped up
and taken to the ground
by defensive tackle Bruce
Gaston. Despite the fullcontact game, Purdue didn't
suffer any major injuries on
Saturday afternoon.

Note: The other three players who chose to leave early were John Hart, Dan Vandervieren and the late
Johnathan Uchendu. None of them started a game.
This Week In Purdue History
April 17, 2002 • Junior pitcher Chadd Blasko continues his hot streak, throwing
32 innings (of a possible 33) in four consecutive outings. During the run, the Mishawaka native struck out 36 and allowed just 19 hits, four walks and three earned runs.
"He has a great background
and is a positive individual.
He wants to put toughness in
the program, which is needed in the Big Ten."
Former coach Jim Young on current head
coach Darrell Hazell
April 15, 2005 • Rising senior Isiah "Juice" Williams makes an unofficial visit
to Purdue for spring scrimmage. The dual-threat quarterback from Chicago listed Purdue, Illinois and Northern Illinois as his top three schools before ultimately
choosing Ron Zook's program in Champaign.
April 17, 2009 • The offense bests the defense 11-5, capturing the
annual "steak and beans" scrimmage. Quarterback Joey Elliott, who
had waited four years to get a shot as the starting quarterback, was
one of the difference-makers in the scrimmage, according to first-year
coach Danny Hope.
