This is being done to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and protect those who are most vulnerable to the virus. More resources available at archden.org/coronavirus. Archdiocese of Denver implementing changes in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) • Reducing chances of transmission among our communities. • Protecting people who are at a higher risk for adverse health complications. • Maintaining business and school operations. • Minimizing disruptions of essential services provided to the community. • Remove Holy Water from the hand-fonts and have hand sanitizer available at all entrances. • Suspend the exchange of the Sign of Peace, or announce that it can be done with a simple bow. Also, no handholding during the Lord's Prayer. • Highly recommended that Holy Communion only be distributed in the hand. • Reinforce procedures for having Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion sanitize their hands prior to Communion. • Keep gifts of bread and wine covered on credence table - no o› ertory procession. • The collection may be conducted in a manner that limits the number of hands touching the basket. • The faithful are not obliged to attend Mass if they are sick. Staying home is an act of charity towards fellow parishioners. • Coronavirus symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath. If you experience these symptoms, call your health care provider. *Call fi rst so they can deter- mine your risk factors to others.* • Coronavirus is spread person to person or by contact with contaminated objects – similar to how the fl u is spread. • If you are sick, stay home and limit your contact with others. • Take steps to keep you and your family healthy: • Regularly wash your hands. • Avoid contact with people who are sick. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. • Regularly clean frequently touched surfaces. • Begin planning for how your family would manage if someone has to miss school/work. • Emphasize that employees/students should stay home if they are sick. • Explore remote-work and classwork options. • Develop plans for operations with limited sta› and substitute teachers. • Consider postponing unnecessary community events. • Actively promote best health practices and o› er ample hand sanitizer, wipes, etc. • Increase routine environmental cleaning, including doorknobs, light switches, etc. • Request that if any employees or students have had direct exposure to someone with COVID-19, they alert their supervisor/teacher. • Begin planning for the possibility of extending your school year if class days are missed.
