Areas include: , Public access , Employee-only access o Identify high-touch equipment and fix- tures that need to be frequently disinfected. o Update current cleaning stan- dard operating procedures (SOP). Recommendations include: , Dressing rooms cleaned and disin- fected after each use , Restrooms cleaned and disinfected every hour o Update and implement employee (SOP) training plan. o Purchase appropriate cleaning equip- ment and EPA Registered disinfectant chemicals. o Purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for your employees to use for cleaning tasks. 5. OPERATIONS o Minimize interactions between employees and customers. , Registration and payments for pro- grams and activities. Maximize use of online options. Minimize in-person transactions. Install "sneeze shields" between employees and customers where possible. o Ensure that shields do not vio- late fire codes. • Suggested areas to include shields might include: , Lobby Front Desk , Point of Sale (POS) locations , Skate Rental counter , Implement state and local govern- ment physical distancing guidelines within the facility. Facility Entrance / Exit o Clearly identify entry and exit doors with signage. o Use stanchions to separate patrons. o Post physical distancing signage at entrance. Front Desk and POS locations o Mark floor for standing in line. Skate Rental Counter o Mark floor for standing in line. Lobby / Concourse o Reduce the number of tables and chairs. o Space out as needed. o Post physical distancing sig- nage. Public Restrooms o Close off toilet partitions, uri- nals and sinks as needed. Participant Dressing Areas (e.g. locker rooms) o Where possible, use multiple rooms for team activities. o Consider setting time limits for dressing room use. o Mark available seating spaces. Spectator Seating Areas (e.g. bleachers) o Mark available seating spaces. o Close off areas as needed. o Post physical distancing signage. Players benches o Mark available seating spaces. o Close off areas as needed. o Post physical distancing signage. Off-Ice Waiting Areas (e.g. gates to get on ice) o Clearly identify waiting areas with signage. o Mark floor for standing in line. On-Ice o Ensure that programming conforms to state and local gov- ernment physical distancing guidelines. o See U.S. Figure Skating and USA Hockey Programming rec- ommendations. o Minimize touch points throughout the facility. , Ensure that no-touch fixtures in rest- rooms are working properly. Consider installing these types of fixtures if not already there. Examples: Faucets Soap Dispensers Hand Dryers Paper Towel Dispensers Toilet & Urinal Flush Valves Motion Controlled Light Switches , Prop doors open where possible. , Consider shutting off water fountains, vending machines, ATM and video games. , Consider eliminating the following: Lost and Found Holding customers shoes in exchange for rental skates. , Minimize employees' shared equip- ment. Examples: Computers POS touch screens Phones Two-way radios Copy machines Small office equipment (e.g. stapler) o Encourage best practices when it comes to hygiene. , Recommend that customers showing any symptoms or signs of sickness, or who have been in contact with known positive cases, to stay home. , Recommend that customers wear a mask and gloves at facility. THE UNITED STATES ICE RINK ASSOCIATION STRONGLY ENCOURAGES ICE RINK OWNERS AND OPERATORS TO ADHERE TO THEIR STATE AND LOCAL GUIDELINES WHEN DETERMINING THEIR OWN RE-OPENING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
