He had offers from Louisville, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, among others. Rivals.com ranks Price as the No. 15 prospect in North Caro- lina and the No. 25 strongside defensive end nationally. "He has great get-off at the snap and does a really good job getting into the backfield and causing mayhem," Rivals.com regional analyst Adam Friedman noted. "He's very physical and knows how to use his hands to swat offensive linemen off of him." The 5-11, 250-pound Tate also had offers from Louisville, South Carolina and Tennessee. He lined up mainly on the offensive line last season and had 20 pancake blocks, but will play for defensive line coach Charley Wiles at NC State. "They showed me the most love," Tate said. "I love Coach Wiles, and I get to play with my brother." Two-star safety Sean Brown, a 6-1, 190-pounder from Hough High in Cornelius, N.C., will join his prep teammate, three-star corner Mario Love Jr., in NC State's class. In 13 games as a junior, Brown had 65 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks and a pick. His other offers included Louisville, Michigan State, Missouri and Wake Forest. Brown announced his choice June 21. "I told them in early June or late May," he confessed. "I just wanted to build up some excite- ment, and it was really special to commit on Father's Day." The final new commit is two-star running back Demie Sumo from Willingboro (N.J.) High. Sumo is a versatile 6-0, 200-pounder who can be used in a variety of ways. He was an all-county per- former as a junior after he carried 65 times for 648 yards, averaging almost 10.0 yards per rush, and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 21 passes for 430 yards and eight scores, and aver- aged 24.8 yards on eight kickoff returns, running one back the distance. Defensively, he had 53 tackles, including 5.5 for loss. He inter- cepted two passes, including a pick-six, recovered two fumbles and forced four loose balls. "They saw what other colleges haven't seen in me," Sumo said of NC State. "They are seeing what I can do, and they kept in con- tact with me. They showed me that they really wanted me." Temple, Northern Illinois and Buffalo also offered Sumo. The one former commit that left the class was three-star running back Caleb McDowell from Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County High.
