Dear Racers, Sponsors, Media, Fans and SCORE Staff: As the Mayor of Mexicali and on behalf of all its inhabitants, I want to welcome you to a very special edition of the BFGoodrich Tires 52nd SCORE Baja 500 presented by 4Wheel Parts. It is truly an honor for all of us to host one of the World’s most famous Off-Road Races, which will take place in our picturesque port of San Felipe. We will host this special event, for the second time in its fifty-two year history, on the shores of the Sea of Cortés. Our people have made Mexicali the Capital of our State, Baja California, with hard work and a legendary resilience to overcome many challenges. Our municipality is also a headquarter for international corporations and one of the most important agricultural regions in Mexico. Mexicali is also recognized for its world-renowned Medical Tourism Services, award-winning cuisine, our famous craft beer, and for having one the most popular beach destinations in the region: San Felipe. This year’s race is also special because it will take place under the health guidelines of a Biosecurity Protocol due to the COVID-19 situation, therefore we urge everyone to follow all of our health recommendations while visiting San Felipe. On behalf of our people and our government, we wish all of you a pleasant stay.
