According to a recently released schedule, each team will play a full season of 20 games, with the Isobel Cup playoffs expected to be completed by the end of March. The league also hopes to hold its annual all-star game after the season. While the puck won't drop until January, the six NWHL teams plan on hitting the ice in September for optional on-ice practices and off- ice training. When formal practices begin in mid-October teams will strictly adhere to the protocols established by the league's COVID-19 Safety Committee. Established in 2015, the NWHL is made up of the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, Minnesota Whitecaps and the Toronto Six, the league's newest expansion team.
