The Seven Global Providers That Matter Most And How They Stack Up
Google: Forrester's Take
our evaluation found that Google Cloud (see figure 6):
› Leads the pack with unparalleled Kubernetes expertise. Google created and open sourced
Kubernetes, pioneered managed K8s in the cloud, and runs large customer clusters globally for a
wide range of stateless and stateful workloads. The anthos platform combines public cloud and
on-premises deployments with istio and unified configuration management. automatic upgrades
for Kubernetes worker nodes is a highly valued capability.
› Needs to simplify training, operations, and security configuration. security and access controls
are inconsistent across services, and operational tools are lacking. The stackdriver operations
console needs improvement.
› Best suits firms that want a single container experience across clouds. Google aims to make
Google Kubernetes engine (GKe) and anthos work best on Google Cloud and better than other
public cloud container services in multicloud environments. it's a work in progress.
Google Customer reference Summary
Customer value GKe's ease of use, deployment speed, maturity, and integrations. Customer support
has improved dramatically over the last two years. Product road maps could be clearer.
