our evaluation found that iBM (see Figure 11):
› Has broad programming language support. Like nimbella, iBM cloud Functions is based on
the open source apache openWhisk project. it adds a built-in aPi gateway, good event streaming
support, and strong function isolation at the container level.
› Needs to deliver a unified roadmap and strategy. We expect iBM's post-red Hat acquisition
serverless strategy to build on Knative and Tekton instead of openWhisk. While existing product
capabilities won't go away, development teams should carefully consider new investments before
the next-generation FaaS service ships.
› Is a good fit for teams committed to IBM cloud. development teams with strategic
commitments to the iBM cloud will find iBM cloud Functions a good option to integrate multiple
iBM cloud services.
