ENTERPRISE l QUICK LOOK l The Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL) provides a single consolidated list of products that have completed certification for use in all DoD network infrastructures. The following NetScout products have been certified for placement on the UC APL: • nGeniusONE™ Service Assurance platform (V5.2.1) • InfiniStream ® appliance (V5.2.1) The nGeniusONE platform streamlines service delivery assurance and management by providing a converged solution for network and application performance management, delivering holistic visibility across complex, multi-vendor, distributed environments. The platform delivers a top-down, service-focused perspective of performance characteristics of all infrastructure and application elements associated with service delivery. This efficient approach dramatically reduces mean time to resolution (MTTR) and saves time and resources by utilizing the right expert to investigate the right service component at the right stage in the resolution chain. The nGeniusONE platform is powered by Adaptive Service Intelligence™ (ASI) technology, NetScout's patented next-generation Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) engine that exploits the inherent richness of packet-flow data to provide a contextual view of service, network and application performance. ASI enables proactive service triage, advanced network performance management and advanced packet analysis. The InfiniStream appliance is an intelligent deep packet capture and analysis appliance that delivers dedicated, always on, monitoring and continuous capture capabilities for real-time and back-in-time analysis. The InfiniStream appliance uses ASI technology to perform local real-time granular Layer 2-7 data mining as traffic crosses the wire, eliminating the need for middleware and extensive backend processing while reducing management traffic loads. In addition, the appliance captures, indexes and stores packets crossing the wire for comprehensive deep-dive forensic analysis activities. About the UC APL The UC APL was established in accordance with the Unified Capabilities Requirements 2013 (UCR 2013) Errata-1. The DoD UCR 2013 specifies the technical requirements for certification of approved products to be used in DoD networks to provide end-to-end Unified Capabilities (UC) (UCR 2013 Section 1.1). Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) connects all branches of the military as well as related services, agencies, and coalition partners. The DoD and DISA operationally define 'Unified Capabilities' as the integration of voice, video and/or data services delivered ubiquitously across a secure and highly available network infrastructure, independent of technology, to provide increased mission effectiveness to the warfighter and business communities (UCR 2013, Section 1.3). The DoD UCR 2013 also provides a common language and reference for DoD Components' implementation of UC technology, supports implementation of DoD Component solutions, and directs adherence to common standards and specifications to support the Department's Joint Information Environment goal of establishing effective, secure, and common UC. (UCR 2013 Section 1.1). The purpose of the UC APL is to maintain a single consolidated list of products that have completed Interoperability (IO) and Information Assurance (IA) certification. Use of the DoD UC APL allows DoD Components to purchase and operate Unified Capabilities systems over all DoD network infrastructures. nGeniusONE Solution Compliance with Department of Defense Unified Capabilities Requirements
