Where Kait's
strength was
restored
Kait Boyle is an ultra-cyclist from Victor, Idaho. Just two
months a er winning a world championship title, she was
involved in a horrific car accident that ruptured her bladder,
quadruple fractured the pelvis, and fractured her sacrum and
fibula. Kait was unsure if she could race competitively again.
She underwent surgery to implant two permanent pins and
an eternal fixator to stabilize her pelvis and hold her bones
in proper position, and "wore" this external metal device for
twelve weeks. A er two years of diligent physical therapy,
Kait returned to her true love, racing the iconic 137-mile long
Kokopelli Trail. In her first major race since the accident, Kait
broke the previous record for fastest female cyclist!
